The Cathedral of Amos

Located in the heart of the city of Amos and dominating the landscape, the Ste-Therese d’Avila Cathedral is situated on a natural promontory, near the Harricana River. The Cathedral invariably attracts attention due to its Roman-Byzantine style architecture, unique in North America! Built in 1922, it is the flagship monument of the city and a testament to the people’s determination to make it possible to build one of the most beautiful cathedrals in Quebec, in spite of the limited means of the time. After seeing the photos of the actual construction exhibited inside the building, the magnitude of the work involved for such majestic results will certainly take your breath away !
